Where, oh where, is the opposition on Brighton and Hove City Council?
A former councillor is appointed as community liaison to the developers of the King Alfred site and all the leader of the opposition can say is he is "surprised".
Residents have objected to the size of the development from day one but the Labour party has ignored their views and is determined to force this development through.
Meanwhile, the developers appoint a former member of the Labour administration to "listen to the views of residents".
Residents have been listened to and ignored and the Conservatives congratulate her on getting the job.
What hope is there for this city if there is no challenge from the opposition?
