Businesses in East Brighton will be able to advertise products and services for free in a new business directory.
The directory will be distributed to Bates Estate, Higher Bevendean, Manor Farm, Moulsecoomb, Saunders Park and Whitehawk.
The aim is to encourage residents to use local businesses and boost the East Brighton economy.
Regeneration project eb4u is funding the directory as part of its commitment to improving employment and business opportunities for residents.
The directory will be available from the end of September and will be distributed to every household in the eb4u catchment area.
It will also be available from the eb4u web site.
Eb4u business community manager Lorraine Bell is putting the directory together.
She said: "It's a case of trying to get local people to use local businesses. If someone needs a plumber or a plasterer, it would be great if they could find someone a couple of streets away rather than bringing someone across from Portslade.
"If the businesses are supported by residents, hopefully they will be in a better position to expand, which could create new jobs.
"We're looking for all sizes and types of businesses for the directory.
"So far, I have 100 entries but I know there are hundreds more local businesses out there that could benefit.
"The directory is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to be seen by every household in the area. And with the aim of boosting business in the area, the directory will get bigger and better every year.
East Brighton businesses wanting to be included in the directory should call Lorraine by September 5 on 01273 296767 or email her at lorraine.bell@bitc.org.uk
