Whitehawk twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at home to Hailsham Town in County League division one.

A Scott French brace was cancelled out by Kevin Townsend's strike and Paul Stephenson's header ten minutes from time.

French looked set to hit a late winner but was denied by a fine saving tackle from Toby Phillips.

Hailsham boss Brian Dennis said: "To come to Whitehawk and get a point, you have to be pleased.

"To be in front twice and let them get back into it, though, you have to be disappointed."

Hawks manager Ian Chapman said: "It was probably a fair result. Our pitch is shocking at the moment but both sides tried to play football."

Southwick were held to a goalless draw at home to East Preston.

Wayne Potbury almost settled matters 20 minutes from time with his first touch after coming on as substitute but his effort hit the bar.

Wickers boss Mick Fogden said: "We had 80 per cent of the game but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net."

In the Sussex RUR Cup, Three Bridges won 3-0 at Selsey thanks to goals from Andy Alexander, Simon Funnell and a Damian Webber header.

Bridges boss Sammy Donnelly said: "We needed to get back on the winning track after Saturday. Let's hope we can keep it going."
