A cheerleading squad based in Littlehampton took on some of the best in the world at a major tournament.
The Sussex Tornado squad competed in the British Cheerleading Championships at Loughborough University.
They came away with two trophies, one for fourth place British champions and another for the individual division, where Sophie Eady came fourth out of 37 cheerleaders.
Both the Tornado senior and junior squads gained enough points to qualify for the international championships, where they competed against squads from Greece, Norway, India and Sweden.
Tornado spokeswoman Lillian Weston said: "The level of the squads competing was awesome and the entire weekend was amazing.
"Lianne Weston and Helen Coe, the two coaches of the team, said just to qualify for the internationals was a great achievement and we are very proud of the girls' performances.
"Another achievement for the squad was that Lianne Weston auditioned for a place in the United Kingdom squad and gained a place.
"She will be part of the team representing England in the world championships in November, which are being hosted this year at Manchester Veladrome."
