Rob Ferley and Joe Denly both cracked unbeaten centuries as Sussex 2nd XI were again made to struggle on the opening day of their Championship clash against Kent at Eastbourne.
Sussex, who have lost their last three matches, reduced Kent to 32-3 but then saw them recover to make 367-3 declared with Ferley and Denly adding an unbroken 335.
It got worse for the hosts before the close as Krishna Singh (0) and Jeremy Green (2) were quickly sent packing, as Sussex stumbled to 24-2 in reply.
Mohammad Amin removed Danny Chambers for a duck and Matthew Banes for 32.
Jason Voros also picked up the early wicket of Alex Loudon, snapped up at third slip by Ollie Rayner for a duck.
Ferley and Denly then got going to revive the innings.
