Eastbourne Eagles have called off Saturday's match against Elite League leaders Poole Pirates because of the rearranged Scandinavian Grand Prix.
Promoter Jon Cook said: "The loss of our biggest meeting during the summer holidays is a big financial blow and we must make sure nothing like this ever happens again."
Half a dozen Eastbourne and Poole riders, including the top two in the world, Nicki Pedersen and Tony Rickardsson, would have been missing if the match had gone ahead at Arlington Stadium.
The Grand Prix in Sweden was scrapped last Saturday after three races because the specially laid track at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg was dangerous.
