After leaving my office in Portland Road, Hove, I noticed a licenced Brighton and Hove taxi driver pull up on the side of the road (facing the wrong direction of course) and obstruct the traffic.
He was happily polishing his pride and joy and chatting to a man. As I passed them, the taxi driver disposed of his used paper towel into the gutter.
He was standing less than a foot away from a bin. I said he should dispose of his rubbish in the bin. He smiled sweetly and said perhaps I should pick it up for him.
I told him not to be so cheeky. There is enough rubbish flying around the streets without him adding to it.
He said: "Oh come on, love. Don't be such a ****."
I was so taken aback I didn't take down his registration or licence number.
But I have emailed Brighton and Hove City Council to advise them of the type of taxi driver they employ.
