Craig Savage is hoping to complete the first part of a double when Brighton hosts the national baseball play-offs this weekend.
Head coach Savage is confident his Brighton Buccaneers side can emerge as national champions for the third year in a row.
He is also keeping his fingers crossed that Sussex can win cricket's County Championship to make it a year to remember.
Savage was brought in by Sussex this year to assist with throwing techniques and has spent two days a week with Chris Adams' side as their title challenge has unveiled.
Baseball, though, is Savage's prime focus tomorrow as the Bucs open the Final Four Championship at Pavilion Field, Waterhall, against National League winners Windsor Bears (1.00).
The winners of the clash between the league's top two will progress to the final on Sunday (3.30). The losers will get a second chance against the winners of the third versus fourth play-off which sees Bracknell Blazers take on Croydon Pirates.
Savage said: "We always seem to win it when we finish runners-up in the league and right now we are pretty confident.
"We got the draw we wanted. We wanted to play Windsor first because we know if they don't throw their best guy they won't get through to the final. If they do throw him and lose, they have lost their best guy for the weekend.
"We always seem to come good in the big games and I imagine the other teams would not be looking forward to playing us.
"Despite finishing second and despite losing more games than we wanted, we still finished the league with a winning record against every other team which is really something."
A four-figure crowd is expected with an added attraction of the Kenko International Youth Tournament taking place. Admission for the two-day event is £5 for adults and £2 for under-16s.
Schedule: Saturday, 9.30: Bracknell v Croydon; 1.00: Windsor v Brighton; Sunday, 9.30: Windsor or Brighton v Bracknell or Croydon; 3.30: Final.
