I read with joy the idea Arthur North has to create an eco-friendly solar palace in the ruins of the West Pier (The Argus, August 28).
I hope this will be considered seriously by the people of Brighton and Hove.
The flight of the starlings is a natural phenomenon and could also be part of the pier's attraction for nature lovers and visitors.
I am sorry to hear Dr Geoff Lockwood, chief executive of the Brighton West Pier Trust, is being a bit of a stickler and not prepared to consider new ideas. I say "go for it".
It's sad that he thinks Brighton's seascape is boring.
