The boss of a plant hire business which ran up debts of more than £168,000 has been disqualified from acting as a company director for five years.
Simon Andrew Rider, 48, of Titmus Drive, Tilgate, Crawley, was accused of writing cheques he knew could not be cashed on the company's bank accounts.
He also failed to deliver company records and accounts when asked to do so by auditors.
His company, Ifield-based Macklin Ground Engineering, was voluntarily wound up in 2000.
Rider was disqualified at Brighton County Court.
