Police and councillors have come up with an innovative way of tackling youth problems.
Police in Littlehampton are inviting members of the public to an interactive play about the problem of teenagers gathering in groups.
The audience will be able to watch a play about a gang hanging around a corner shop. Then, as the actors perform it for a second time, local people will be able to ask questions or start a discussion about what is happening.
Sergeant Mick Potter, from Littlehampton police, said the production, organised by police and the West Sussex County Council community safety partnership, was the ideal way for people to discuss problems in a non-threatening way.
He said: "Since everyone, including the audience is involved, this represents an excellent way to address community tensions.
"Although it will not solve individual problems, it has already proved extremely valuable in creating a better understanding of similar community problems."
The performance is being held at Littlehampton Community School on September 16.
