Two Brighton companies organised the recent International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Congress 2003 in Paris.
CongressWorld and Martlet organised the five-day event, which had about 16,000 visitors.
CongressWorld was appointed in May 2001 to plan the event and was responsible for the logistics of the congress, working in collaboration with scientific committees in France.
It organised the registrations, accommodation and social programme.
Ray Whitehouse, CongressWorld's managing director, led a team of 45 from Brighton, in addition to 132 local staff, to ensure the event ran smoothly.
He has been personally involved in organising previous IDF events, which are held around the world every three years.
