Pet owners are being offered free health checks for their animals.
Staff at the Northdale Vets' Surgery in Victoria Road, Worthing, will carry out the check-ups as part of National Pet Check Week, a new initiative organised by the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals.
The week is aimed at making pet owners more aware of the health and well-being of their pets and encouraging them to register with a vet before their pet needs treatment.
Senior vet Peter Brown said: "National Pet Week offers pet owners the chance to seek free advice.
"Our qualified veterinary nurses will be pleased to advise owners on routine health maintenance issues, including diet, nutrition, grooming and dental care.
"We would urge pet owners to register with a veterinary practice and not wait until their pet needs a vet.
"Sadly, pets do have accidents and fall ill and that is not the ideal time to start looking for a veterinary surgeon."
The free checks are available on September 22, 23 and 25. Call 01903 202474 for an appointment.
