Organisers of an appeal for the Martlets Hospice in Hove did a brilliant job when they raised the money for the building.

But they knew the really hard work started after that, when money had to be gathered year on year for the running costs.

The Quids In fund-raising extravaganza next week will generate cash for the Martlets jointly with The Argus Appeal.

Now almost half a century old, The Argus Appeal helps scores of local people and organisations every year, with every penny going directly to charity.
