The school I've seen since I took over as executive head of East Brighton College of Media Arts (Comart) last week is very different to the one you described in your front page story.
Behaviour is good, attendance is improving and my experience is that our pupils, including our new intake of year sevens, are bright and keen to learn.
Everyone is aware of the consultation taking place over the future of the school.
But I can assure parents and journalists alike that whatever happens with the consultation, our staff are working hard to give students an excellent education.
Our students are responding admirably. And I haven't seen any slugs at all.
-Mark Whitby executive head, East Brighton College of Media Arts
