Clive Richards faces a showdown at the French former Grand Prix circuit of Dijon-Prenois next Saturday when the deciding rounds of the Autosport Caterham Eurocup will be fought.
With Richards, who comes from Itchingfield near Horsham, and two other drivers battling it out for championship honours, the event promises to be a genuine battle royal.
Gloucestershire driver Nelson Rowe leads the title race to France, with Richards in second place and Berkshire's Mark Humphrey third.
The trio are separated by just 14 points.
Richards, 42, has won twice this year, at Spa-Francorchamps and Zandvoort, and has not been off the podium in his last six outings with his Colards Motorsport-entered R400.
He is no stranger to winning Caterham championship titles himself as he was the K Series Champion in 1994, Caterham Vauxhall victor in 1997 and last year claimed the Eurocup Roadsport class title. The title protagonists will have their work cut out to emerge on top of a highly competitive field of R400 runners.
First-round victor Jon Barnes will be hoping to maintain the strong run of form which brought him and Team Parker Racing victory in one of last month's trophy races at Spa.
