Borrowers could be wasting up to £725 million a year by not shopping around for personal loans.
According to The MarketPlace at Bradford & Bingley, six out of ten people go straight to their own bank or building society for a loan.
The MarketPlace, the financial advice arm of Bradford & Bingley, said people were wasting £725 million a year by not shopping around.
High Street loan rates vary from under 7 per cent to 13 per cent.
