Mid Sussex District Council has a novel idea to stop the problem of teenagers hanging round bus shelters, causing problems.
It is considering spending £30,000 on providing glorified bus shelters where youths can meet well away from other people.
Residents are worried the youths will simply transfer rowdy behaviour to these new shelters, all in Haywards Heath.
But there's enough hope that the idea will work to make it really worth a try rather than people simply sitting back moaning about the youngsters of today.
It might also move some youngsters out of places where groups have caused some damage, such as children's playgrounds.
The negative attitude being shown by many residents and town councils is doing nothing to help.
At least the district council is trying to be positive, which is more than can be said for its detractors.
