What Brighton and Hove City Council's transport spokesman Simon Battle should have said on the profit from parking fines in the City was that this will be ploughed back into more on-street parking areas, thus bringing in greater profits for the council (The Argus, September 16).
The council will not be satisfied until it has the whole of Brighton and Hove, south of Old Shoreham Road, under the money-making scheme, referred to as parking zones.
The profit was suggested to possibly decrease parking charges but Councillor Battle has other ideas and will increase parking charges too.
Where does he park at work - and is it free?
