A public inquiry will be held into plans for two tall rides on the Palace Pier in Brighton.

The pier's owner, the Noble Organisation, applied to put up the 130ft booster rides on the pierhead.

But Brighton and Hove City Council rejected the rides, saying they would cause too much clutter.

Noble appealed against the refusal to the Planning Inspectorate.

Now the inquiry has been arranged for Hove Town Hall on November 5 and 6, starting at 10am each day.

If the inquiry inspector approves the rides, they will replace existing rides called Ventura and Ranger.

They will each have a long arm with seats on either end which spin around.
