Skaters put their skills to the test at the launch of a park designed for them.
Mayor of Brighton and Hove Coun Jeane Lepper opened the skate park at Brentwood Road recreation ground on Saturday.
Skaters and skateboarders demonstrated stunts on the ramps, quarter pipes, fun boxes and grind rails.
The launch went off with a bang to the sound of fireworks and Brighton band Unclebuck provided music.
Police were at the opening to give their backing to the new facility, provided through Brighton & Hove City Council's Hollingdean Programme for regeneration and the sports development unit, with Neighbourhood Renewal funding from central government.
The Hollingdean skatepark is the first of a number of new skateboarding facilities planned for the city.
Coun Lepper, a ward councillor for Hollingdean, said: "It's what youngsters in the area have told us they want."
