Hundreds of people were limbering up today to make whoopee and land a place in the Guinness World Records' hall of fame.
The audience is poised to blast the roof off the Brighton Dome tonight with an attempt to break the world whoopee cushion record.
It is hoped 1,500 people will simultaneously sit on whoopee cushions and earn a place in the record books.
The current record stands at 982 people.
The attempt will take place on the opening night of the Paramount Brighton Comedy Festival. The show kicks off at 8pm and the record attempt will be the finale.
