In August the residents of Gladstone Road signed yet another petition in the hope the council might spend some money and improve the parking situation.

The council painted double yellow lines down both sides then ran out of money before adequate parking bays were built and now refuses to let people build driveways.

So it isn't surprising that some residents are left with no option but to park on the grass verges.

Given that this is off the road, we thought we were safe from the council's men in black.

But at 9.20am on Sunday, October 12, tickets were put on seven cars which were causing no obstruction.

So be warned. It looks as though the council has moved up another gear in its anti-car policy.
