Next month marks the tenth year I have looked after a man with Asperger Syndrome and epilepsy.
On Saturday we were shopping in St James's Street in Kemp Town, Brighton, when he had a rare fit and collapsed on the pavement.
I want to thank the many people who showed concern. I cushioned his head so he wasn't injured and he got up and was helped home soon afterwards.
To the woman who commented loudly to her companion "I thought they were trying to clean up St James's Street", I can only say that impressions can be misleading.
I too look forward to a street free from the consequences of drug and alcohol misuse and general anti-social behaviour.
But I won't withdraw the hand of support from those who need it through no fault of their own.
