The closure and relocation of Ifield First School by West Sussex County Council (WSCC) has at last been exposed as a property deal which has also formed part of the Government's already-discredited Private Finance Initiative (PFI) for Crawley Schools.
This precious school site and its playing field is being sold off to the highest bidder. Why?
Because County Hall's education elite were somehow able to classify the school land as "surplus to educational requirements", which is insane as the very same council has proposed a massive new housing estate to the west of Ifield - which will obviously require schools.
At this rate, the council may well also find itself surplus to requirements.
