Well done to Brighton and Hove City Council for considering further measures to prevent cars from congesting Western Road and North Street and brickbats to the few short-sighted traders opposing the moves.
The routine flouting of current restrictions has made a mockery of efforts to give priority to public transport and caused extensive delays.
During the recent roadworks on the seafront so many cars ignored the bus-only restrictions that they effectively ceased to exist.
The key to ensuring future prosperity in our city is better public transport and cycle provision and I'm sure many local traders have the foresight to support this.
