Did the BBC think that by wheeling out the English-speaking French Minister Dominique de Villepin that we British would be fooled by him telling us everything would be all right?
He said we could trust the French and the Germans and our country would be safe in their hands.
The only people he convinced were the hand-picked audience, which mirrored that of the BBC audience which so viciously attacked America just two days after September 11, 2001.
When Tony Blair lays his wreath at the Cenotaph in November and bows his head in respect for those who have given their lives to keep our country free, he should make sure he holds it down in shame for the sell-out to Brussels that he and his cabinet are about to make.
Perhaps Mr Blair could inform his ministers the name of our country is Great Britain and not just Britain as they would like us to believe.
I have my White Feather ready to send to Mr Blair for his part in the forthcoming sell-out of my country.
What a pity Mrs Thatcher is not well enough to have her say.
We certainly need someone like her now to speak up for the British people and make our views known.
We have surrendered enough to Brussels but it would appear that one man will surrender to the French and Germans what they have always wanted, Great Britain.
