Sussex County cricket captain Chris Adams is to receive an honorary place on Brighton's Walk of Fame.
Earlier this week, the sportsman, who a month ago led Sussex to its first county championship, went to Buckingham Palace to receive the trophy from the Duke of Edinburgh.
Now his achievement will be recorded in stone at Brighton Marina as he joins the elite group whose names already appear at the Hollywood-style attraction.
His is one of five new names to be added to the 100 there already.
Earlier this week, The Argus revealed the public had voted for radio presenter JoAnne Good, actor Brian Capron, comedian Julian Clary and actress Julie Graham to be this year's inductees.
Sussex County Cricket Club already has its own stone at the attraction, along with the Albion and Brighton Bears.
Adams joined Sussex from Derbyshire six years ago and has since played five tests and five one-day internationals for England.
He is largely credited for fostering the team spirit which helped carry Sussex to their first championship - despite having the smallest staff of professionals in England.
He said: "I was at the launch of the Walk of Fame last year but didn't for one minute think I'd ever be included. I'm absolutely thrilled and delighted. It's a great honour and I'm very proud."
Although it's just a month since his team made history, he says it seems like a year ago.
He said: "We've had many, many functions and receptions to attend where people have been very gracious and receptive of the achievement and it has been a thrilling time."
