Lewes stretched their lead at the top of Division One to four points after a thrilling comeback at the Dripping Pan.
Goals from Matt Miller and Ian Hodge in the first half had put the visitors in control, but Lee Newman halved the deficit in first-half injury-time.
The Rooks were a different side after the break and Danny Davis grabbed an equaliser just past the hour.
Davis slotted the winner two minutes from time.
