Ivor Caplin MP insults the many thousands of peace protesters who marched to Downing Street condemning this illegal war upon Iraq (Letters, October 23).
Call him what you like, Saddam Hussein posed no threat whatsoever to Britain.
His weapons of mass destruction have never been found and the war was condemned by the United Nations.
The British Government was duped into going to war against Iraq by a dubious dossier and an emotional appeal from the Prime Minister.
Thank heaven a few MPs stood out against it.
To call such protesters out of touch with reality debases their intelligence as they watch allied soldiers and Iraqis killed without cause.
The actions of this Government and its ally America have opened up a black hole in the centre of the Middle East.
It is little wonder the participants of this occupation are thankful for the help of the UN in sorting out the mess this unwarranted invasion has become.
As far for our MPs who supported this war, they will find little support at the ballot box of the next election.
