Law-abiding motorists who are sick and tired of witnessing the contempt many drivers have for the 60mph limit on some sections of the A24, will welcome West Sussex County Council's installation of speed cameras there.
No doubt there will be a few misguided individuals beside themselves in their opposition to such measures.
To them, it matters not a jot if other road users are put in danger. All that matters is that they do as they want.
There's no way this Wild West behaviour can be tolerated.
If it takes speed cameras and a few court appearances to knock sense into these cowboys, so be it.
If that doesn't work, technology is now available to enable engine management systems to receive signals from roadside transmitters, which force an engine to keep to the speed limit.
So, opponents to cameras, the choice is yours.
