Tom Edwards hit a second half consolation for Withdean as they went down 3-1 at home to Chessington and Hook in the Combined Counties League.
Arundel went third in Matthew Clark County League division one with a thrilling 3-0 win at home to Three Bridges.
Miles Scerri took his tally for season to 25 with a first half brace and Gary Norgate wrapped up victory with his 12th of the campaign on the stroke of full time.
Mullets boss Steve Johnson said: "They couldn't cope with us and maybe we will start getting talked about as the best team in the league.
"It was a terrific result and the players deserve all the credit they get."
Bridges had Ryan Hackett and Ben Milford sent off in the closing stages.
Whitehawk won 3-0 at home to Horsham YMCA thanks to goals from Dean Venton, Carl Southwell and an own goal.
Matthew Huckett scored twice and Andy Willems also found the net as East Preston ran out 3-1 winners at home to Selsey. Graham Morey hit a consolation for the visitors.
