Francis Vines has warned striker Carl Wilson-Denis to make up his mind on where his future lies.
The Crawley boss wants his joint top scorer to commit himself to the club although the player is hoping to grab a second chance with new Albion chief Mark McGhee despite being released by the Seagulls last Monday.
Vines said: "Carl is back at Brighton at the moment so Mark McGhee can run his eye over him before deciding whether he wants to keep him. His agent contacted McGhee and arranged for him to go back to the club so he might stay there a little while."
The striker missed Crawley's FA Cup win at Cirencester Town last Saturday is still hopeful of signing for another League club and did not want to be cup-tied.
Wilson-Denis will play in tomorrow's premier division clash against Chippenham Town but Vines' is unsure about his future after that.
"The situation cannot continue like this," said Vines. "It is frustrating because one second it is yes and the next it is no and I just want him to make his mind up.
"Things have dragged on for so long now I have told him that, as much as I would like to have him here, we can't wait forever. If somebody else comes along that we want then we will go for them instead."
Wilson-Denis has proved a big hit at Crawley this season scoring seven times in 12 games while on dual forms with Albion.
However, with forwards Charlie MacDonald, Warren Bagnall and Joff Vansittart all fit again following injuries, Vines has hinted that Wilson-Denis could now be expendable.
"A few weeks ago we were desperately short of forwards but now everybody is fit I have plenty of options up front so that changes the situation slightly," said Vines.
With Robert Smith back from suspension Crawley have everyone available as they look to extend their unbeaten run to 17 games against lowly Chippenham.
