Albion utility player Robbie Pethick has welcomed the appointment of Mark McGhee.
Pethick, available for Saturday's trip to Peterborough after a two-match ban, said: "He has been around a bit with some good clubs and done well so he should be good for us.
"We had a little get-together at an Italian restaurant after training on Tuesday after our recent run of bad results and he popped down with Bob Booker to introduce himself. It is near enough the same squad that got back-to-back promotions.
"We had a blip last year but hopefully he can bring in new faces if he thinks they are needed. He obviously knows a lot of people."
The arrival of McGhee ends three weeks of uncertainty for the players since Steve Coppell left for Reading.
Caretaker Booker began well with two wins, but Albion go into the Peterborough game after a hat-trick of defeats without scoring a goal.
"It is a weight off everybody's shoulders, including the chairman's," Pethick said.
"Nobody wants to be without a manager and it was hard for Bob to step in."
Pethick made his comeback from suspension in the Reserves at Ringmer on Wednesday night in the Sussex Senior Cup.
He missed the defeats by Brentford and Stockport because of remarks he made to the ref following a red card in the Reserves against Crystal Palace.
Goalkeeper Ben Roberts also returned for the clash at the Caburn Field.
He has been ruled out by a back injury since the defeat at Colchester on September 13.
