I represent Brighton and Hove City Council on the local branch of the United Nations Association (UNA), which is mounting a campaign called Adopt A Minefield.
The aim is to raise money to remove all the landmines left in Iraq.
These vicious weapons hidden in the ground, even after the war is supposedly over, kill and maim civilians. Farmers and children are most at risk.
Princess Diana devoted herself to the cause of clearing the killing fields of the mines.
We are writing to Paul Burrell asking for a donation. He will be making a considerable amount of money from his book on Diana.
If he really wants to perpetuate her memory, he should continue her good work by helping to rid the world of these vile weapons.
