There may have been plenty of bums on seats at the comedy festival but how many of them were happy?
Mistaking diary dates, I ended up seeing Julian Clary and four other comedians at the Dome.
It seems something is only funny if you refer constantly to the F or C words, use graphic descriptions of sex acts or any form of toilet humour.
Clary was not even mildly funny, collecting people's coats with rude remarks to put on a coat stand and returning them at the end of the evening.
He also gave out various cleaning products to some unsuspecting member of the audience, saying how he might like to use it with him.
I had always thought Clary was a sensitive person but he disappointed me when he made some very bad-taste remarks about Graham Norton which just came across as very jealous and bitchy.
Did anyone else find the evening funny or was it just me? If this is the comedy of today, it's a bit depressing!
