I attended the public meeting about the development of the Endeavour site in Preston Park, Brighton, with some friends and colleagues.
We learned this building has been designed with a huge amount of reasoning and, when explained by the architect, it all made perfect sense.
We came away impressed by his creativeness and the integrity of the developers and wish them the very best.
We were all absolutely dumfounded and appalled by the behaviour of a small group of people who continuously heckled, abused and intimidated anybody who showed support for these brilliant buildings.
Many of the people who were supportive left early because the atmosphere became increasingly tense and threatening.
The hecklers shouted people down and dominated the question and answer session afterwards.
The hecklers' questions were nonsensical and had little, if anything, to do with the Endeavour building.
This well organised minority went along purely to disrupt this meeting and intimidate anyone who even applauded the architect.
Well done to the people at Karis for facing down these hecklers calmly and patiently.
I can reassure them there were many more supporters at the meeting than objectors and would not be surprised if they had not won round a lot more by the end of the evening by their very obvious passion for these buildings and this City.
