East Grinstead player-coach Kwan Browne wants his team to forget Sunday's clash with Lewes is a derby.
The Trinidad and Tobago international insists National League division two leaders Grinstead must treat the match like any other game.
Browne said: "The guys have been speaking about it for a while and they are normally close games.
"But from their results this season and our results we should step above all that and go there and get a decent result.
"It would be wrong to focus on the rivalry and be taken up by the occasion. We must not let the fact that it is a derby affect us."
Grinstead are without Charlie Pine who has been sidelined with a broken thumb. Sixteen-year-old Richard Potten is being given an extended chance as back up goalkeeper to Giles Dakin.
Browne will again line up alongside fellow Trinidad and Tobago internationals Dwain Quanchan and Dilette Gilkes, who made his debut against Bath last Saturday.
Adrian Bettesworth returns for Lewes but they are still without injured player-coach Renwick Irvine.
Club captain Will Champness said: "Hopefully we might play well because we haven't for the last two weeks."
Forward Andy Pike has stopped travelling down from Woking. He will play for Woking for the rest of the year but could return for Lewes next season.
