Horsham moved into the third round of the Bryco Cup with a 2-1 win against second division Witham Town at Queen Street.
The Hornets totally dominated the opening period and took the lead in the tenth minute.
Lee Carney broke on the left and cut the ball back for Rhod Davis to round the keeper and score.
It was 2-0 on 28 minutes. Carney beat four players on a run through the middle, slipped the ball to Davis who fired home from ten yards.
Witham scored an injury time consolation when Darren Hawes had time and space to float the ball over Luke Burton from 30 yards.
Lewes went out 1-0 at Chesham Unitedd.
The Rooks had slightly the better of the first half with Peter Adeniyi having a goal disallowed and debutant Mark Watson hitting the crossbar after a neat turn in the box.
However after the interval the home side showed more desire and took the lead just past the hour mark when an unmarked Gary Sippetts headed home a cross from the left.
The same player might have sealed the victory five minutes later when a thunderous effort came back off the woodwork but had a Luke Fontana header been inches lower with just ten minutes remaining, the game would have gone into extra time.
