Architecture is always in the news these days.
However, the real story isn't the proposed Pleasure Island (The Argus, November 11) but whether Brighton and Hove City Council is really serious about embracing modern architecture.
I attended the recent public meeting organised by the developers of the Endeavour site and I think Brighton and Hove has a real opportunity for this site to become the first truly good example of progressive, modern architecture in our city for a very long time.
I hope our councillors do not listen to those who decry anyone speaking in favour of modern architecture and that they rise to the challenge and support this development.
Otherwise we will only have "Fantasy Island" and all the best architects will abandon Brighton and Hove forever.
