The majority of residents in central Brighton who are opposed to the introduction of the communal bin system are house owners rather than flat or bedsit dwellers, who need to get their rubbish out as quick as possible.
Hygiene-wise, this can only be a move for the better and with the supply of special bags for the elderly, the scheme should be given a go.
Why should dustmen have to negotiate dangerous steps to basements when alternatives could be available?
