Arundel manager Steve Johnson was delighted with his side's hardworking display as they won at Whitehawk last night in County League division one.
The victory moved them up to fifth in the table with Johnson hoping results can go his side's way on Saturday as they target the summit.
Jon Tucker opened the scoring for the Mullets with an excellent finish on 18 minutes while Gary Norgate rounded off a fine four-man move on 29 minutes to complete the scoring.
Johnson said: "It is always hard at Whitehawk.
"If you get anything from here then you have done well.
"Their manager Ian Chapman has said we are the best side he has come up against this season so far so I am pleased to hear that as I respect his opinion."
The game between Hailsham and Sidley United was postponed.
Steyning Town substitute Ashley Bailey made an impact in his side's 2-0 victory over Broadbridge Heath in division two.
With virtually his first kick he found the net with a 30 yard rocket to add to Danny Gainsford's ninth-minute headed opener from a free-kick.
Derek Chester grabbed a hat-trick as Littlehampton hammered Saltdean United 6-0 at the Sportsfield.
