Nick Nurse has insisted his Brighton Bears will not give up in the quest for European victory.
Bears went down 68-57 to Sopot last night to virtually end their chances of progress to the knockout stages of the ULEB Cup.
They trailed by 17 points at one stage but clawed back to 50-49 inside the last eight minutes before losing their way offensively.
Bears chief Nurse rated Sopot the best side Bears have played this season and remains convinced his men can end a run of four straight European defeats.
He said: "We keep getting better. We played so well for stretches but we've got to eliminate the scoring droughts and shoot with more confidence.
"I understand the guys are bigger than we are used to but the shots are there.
"These guys won't quit, they showed that in this game, but this competition is an adjustment.
"This basketball does not resemble the British League at all but we are learning all the time."
Sopot guard Travis Conlan admitted: "They missed a lot of shots so the game could have been a lot closer."
Bears will be boosted at Cholet next week by the debut of former Orlando Magic forward Olumide Oyedeji, who watched last night's game.
