I have a valued customer who, amazingly, has a permit for zone M - the same zone in which I run a business repairing cars.
He broke down in Redbridge, north London, and a recovery vehicle delivered him back home, only to discover that no bays within this zone were available.
Why? Because more permits have been issued than spaces available.
After half an hour of dragging this vehicle around the streets of Brighton and Hove, the recovery man eventually dropped it off in Wish Road, nearly two miles away from my premises.
Apparently steam was coming out of his ears and he swore if anybody else breaks down in his area, he won't tow them to Brighton and Hove.
