Bubbly popstars The Cheeky Girls have had to turn down a rock and roll Christmas party invitation after their mother tore it up.
More used to mingling with the likes of Gareth Gates and other pop personalities, the perky pair were desperate to try a taste of the true rock 'n' roll life on a night out with their favourite indie bands.
That was until their formidable mother got wind of the plans and put her foot down.
Gabriela and Monica's mum, who is also their manager, was said to be "horrified" by the idea of her girls attending music mag NME's Christmas bash and told the 21-year-olds they couldn't go.
The Transylvanian twins, whose new single Have a Cheeky Christmas is an outsider in the race for this year's Christmas number one, had been invited on a booze cruise after impressing the NME at the photo shoot for its annual yearbook.
The sisters, who became famous after failing auditions for reality shows Pop Idol and Model Behaviour, were all set for a night on the tiles with hardened party animals, including rockers The Dandy Warhols.
Now, they are staying home in Rye pondering how hard it is to have a cheeky Christmas when you have to be tucked up in bed by nine.
