I am appalled at plans to close the historic Hove Library and relocate to the totally unsuitable Hove Town Hall.
In the long-term absence of a proper central Brighton Library, I have enjoyed using Hove Library.
I also work at the nearby Connaught Centre twice a week and we have taken groups there on visits.
It is one of Hove's few surviving historic buildings and one of the original Carnegie libraries.
Every effort should be made to upgrade the existing building, which is ideally situated for the main shopping area.
Someone seems to have it in for Hove at the moment. The terrible new Tesco is in as incongruous a style as possible and the loss of the library would take all the heart out of the area.
