Your reports (December 2 and 3) show that such organisations as Bluebird and the Older People's Council wish to keep Hove Library at its current, congenial and stimulating location.
What is clear from the material of the original architects, Jones and Robinson, is they envisaged as many books kept in the semi-circular section at the back of the ground floor as now fill the whole of that floor.
The Friends of Hove Library suggest it is feasible to accommodate more books. There is room for shelves and, as Julie Burchill said (December 1), this encourages people to borrow more books.
