In response to Councillor Willows, I am delighted to advise that the facilities at two local rugby clubs are not a disgrace.
Youngsters wishing to take up rugby will benefit from excellent coaching and fine facilities.
The Brighton Club (1868) have enjoyed the use of four council pitches at Waterhall since 1982.
The club's floodlights enable the ten Brighton and Hove District Rugby schools to use them for some of their tournaments.
Sussex Police RFC and Brighton University both share facilities at the club. Hove RFC are now in their second season on Hove recreation ground. The council provided four pitches (despite strong local objection).
The new, well-designed clubhouse is full of activity on Sunday mornings, as is the Brighton Club with youngsters from five years upwards being coached.
