In spite of my concern over the development in Somerhill Avenue, Hove, I have to smile.
A few years ago, the Wardly Hotel in Somerhill Avenue applied to build an extension and convert to 13 flats.
In no time at all, a councillor and helpers were petitioning the area to veto said conversion.
They complained the extension would overlook and invade the privacy of surrounding properties and also (shock horror) that there could be 13 extra cars in the road. How times change.
The application was turned down.
