I was stunned to read about Molly Reed's daughter receiving a £30 parking ticket for trying to help her elderly mother into her home (The Argus, December 30).
I have been a taxi driver in Lewes for a number of years and Molly was a regular customer of one of the local companies I worked for.
There are double-yellow lines near where she needs to be collected and dropped off, leaving you no option but to park on them and sometimes leave the vehicle to help Molly.
I feel the police are missing the point that Molly needs helping into her home. They are treating Mrs Susan Mills differently than their own drivers.
A large police vehicle was parked on double-yellows for 20 minutes outside Lewes police station, near Molly's home, for two nights running in November, obstructing traffic.
Did its driver receive a ticket for parking illegally?
